Hello

My name is Navya Rati Singal, a senior at Brooklyn Technical High School. In Sanskrit, "Navya" means new which is fitting because I love learning new things whether it'd be in my science classes or reading an article on the New York Times.

I live in Queens, one of the most diverse places in the world, and commute about an hour and a half each way to school, a routine which has taught me the importance of discipline as well as appreciation for the bus in my neighborhood. 

 

Outside of academics, my life is full of art and performing. I've trained in classical Indian dance for 12 years and been in my school's choir since my freshman year. I love performing and sharing my passions for my art on stage.

I also enjoy exploring nature through hiking, especially in the Catskills and Adirondacks, my most challenging and memorable hike so far was at Breakneck Ridge.

 

I am more than thankful for the opportunities and experiences I've gained through the last few years. I hope to continue with the same mindset of growth and impact into the next chapter of my life.
